Who are we?

Our family, moved to Greene County, which is located at the base of the Shenandoah National Forest in 1994. Deciding we preferred to raise our daughter in a country setting rather than in the city surroundings, we purchased our home, known as Tranquility and settled into what we consider to be one of the most beautiful areas in Virginia to live.

Mary and I have business backgrounds – I worked in hospitallity and sales, she on Capitol Hill. We wanted to make the best use of the land which we had purchased – to improve it – and use it for the most harmonious purpose. Additionally with retirement we now have a common interest – something that we could do once the empty nest syndrome became a reality, something that would enable us to learn new things and as it has turned out - alpacas were the answer to all of this.

No business is without its expense and because of this we have started very slowly. We have made the decision to only sell alpacas that are raised on our farm and will not be involved in brokering - we are a family owned and operated business. Our theory on raising alpacas is that taking the time to make sure everything is top quality from the cleanliness of the barn, care of the animals and their fields, in addition to their nutrition, will in the long run ensure not only the health of our animals and their offspring, but the absolute top quality fiber that we have already sold to the cottage industry in the area.

We are commited to becoming one of the very best breeders of alpacas in the United States. Honesty, integrity and the genuine desire to help others become involved in this wonderful, healthy, rewarding lifestyle will enable us to make this into a reality.
